Interested in biomaterials and the correlative analysis using X-ray based techniques such as computed tomography and diffraction. A special focus lies in the understanding of the interplay between mechanical stresses and degradation in biodegradable magnesium-based implant materials.

Research interests include the use of
- (analytical) electron microscopy
- electron tomography incl. quantitative 3D analysis
- 4D-STEM imaging and statistical analysis
- (high-speed) in-situ TEM
with applications in materials sciences (catalysis, batteries, glass, magnetic materials)

Interested in biomaterials and correlating different imaging techniques. Especially understanding the biodegradation processes of Magnesium-based alloys at the micro- to nanoscale by applying synchrotron radiation nano computed tomography and transmission electron microscopy techniques.
