My research focuses on developing innovative methods for detecting microplastics in aquatic environments using polarized imaging techniques, aided by the Plastoscope. By employing image classification and advanced image processing algorithms, we use the unique polarimetric signatures of microplastics for accurate identification. The aim is the differentiation of microplastics from other particulates, aiming to provide a cost-effective, scalable solution for real-time monitoring of microplastic pollution.
